The Case for Preventative Acupuncture

Chances are if you’ve tried acupuncture it’s because you couldn’t deal with your pain any longer. What most people don’t realize is that it doesn’t have to get to that point. For both acute and chronic pain and a host of other ailments, the best time to get acupuncture is before they occur. That’s why there is no form of wellness care as under-discussed as preventative acupuncture.

Acupuncture has one goal: to return a balance of energy to the body. To ensure that there are no blockages and that blood is reaching every cell. That is the army that your body needs to stave off disease. And when compared to Western medicine for pain or improving immune system function, the adverse effects from acupuncture are virtually non-existent. There’s nothing to lose and everything to gain.

Beyond that, a feeling of wellness can lead to stronger life choices. How many people suffer from life-threatening illnesses when the best medicine is to have stopped smoking, drinking, or over-eating years ago? A balanced mind and body has less need to reach for a cigarette or a beer or bad food. There is no doctor that can prescribe you a time machine to go back and undo poor choices. Making acupuncture a regular part of your life means you won’t need one.

Remember: a happy body is a healthy body, and nothing makes your body happier than preventative acupuncture.
